Experience Baroque music performed on authentic period instruments in a historically informed concert.
The Brisch Center for Historical Performance presents “The Honea Legacy: Masterworks for Period Instruments in Performance” at 4:15 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, in Radke Fine Arts Theatre. Admission is free and open to the public.
The concert honors the scholarship of Sion “Ted” Honea III, Ph.D., whose research collection continues to support the Brisch Center’s study and performance of early music.
Celebrate the enduring legacy of the Honea Research Collection through an afternoon of historically informed performance featuring music by Carl Friedrich Abel, Jacques Gaultier, Francis Pilkington, François Couperin and other composers represented in the collection. Performed on period instruments, the concert offers audiences an opportunity to experience these masterworks through the sounds, techniques and performance practices of their own time.
