2022 Black History Month: The Miseducation of U.S. During the Month of February, UCO will celebrate the history and center the experiences of the Black community. Join the Career Development Center for the Black Leadership Panel. Panelists are local Black community and organizational leaders. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Jeanetta Sims, Dean of the Jackson College of Graduate Studies. Prepared questions will focus on the panelists’ vocational discernment, career journeys, and how each overcame obstacles to become the leaders they are today. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask their own questions toward the conclusion of the event. Once the panel portion of the event is complete, panelists are invited to remain in the room to answer additional questions and network directly with students. Panelists include: Ms. Davia Young Jefferson - Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Specialist IIII; Dr. Mautra Staley Jones - Langston University, Vice President of Institutional Advancement and External Affairs; Dr. Fred Hammond - University of Central Oklahoma, College of Education and Professional Studies, Professor; and Mr. Gregory II - Artist, Poet, Event Host, Business Owner, Founder (Poetry and Chill).
